The prime source of light and energy, the Surya devata is the principal celestial authority of all earthly and heavenly planets and sustains all living beings residing in them. As per Vedic astrology the sun is considered more important than all the other astrological planets. The sun deity is associated with confidence, bravery, stability, will-power, leadership and eminence. It plays a major influence on physical vigour, mental strength, career, caliber and success of a person.
The Yantra can be used to meditate on Lord Surya, who is also the teacher of Hanuman. Meditating on the Surya yantra can make us more focused and mentally stable.
The Yantra is a window through which you can align with divine energy—the solar energy present in the macrocosm. When we focus on the center of the yantra, our mind is pitched into the creative force of the Yantra through which the energy flows. The Surya yantra is also symbolic of Shri Ram, who is a Suryavanshi king.
A yantra energizes the location where it is placed. It can be placed near the entrance of your home or office or in your living room, study, or your pooja altar. It may be placed on a table or used as a wall hanging (with or without frame). It is best placed in the east direction facing west. It gets energized by the rays of the rising sun and the divine vibrations of the east corner, and offers transformational energies to the space through its mystical geometry. The surya yantra also provides Vastu rectification of a blocked east with no windows or doors that does not allow the flow of solar prana into the building.
Ritual worship is not necessary, but you can worship it by gazing at it and saying your prayers.
